As I stated in my swearing-in address on December 3, 2022, under my leadership, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (Department) will embrace three core principles: integrity, accountability, and collaboration.
Therefore, the Department welcomes and will cooperate with appropriate oversight bodies and offices, including the Los Angeles County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission and the Office of Inspector General (OIG)
I am aware that on October 5, 2022, a letter was sent to the Board of Supervisors removing OIG access to Department facilities, databases, and personnel.
Effective immediately, I am restoring the OIG’s access to our Department. I look forward to establishing a productive and collaborative relationship with you during my tenure as Los Angeles County Sheriff.
