August 07, 2025

Robbery – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Manchester Avenue and Market Street, in the city of Inglewood, regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female adult (victim) who stated she was entering the bus when a male adult (suspect) dragged her down to the floor of the bus by her hair. The suspect then snatched a gold chain from her neck.  The suspect then exited the bus and fled in an unknown direction. The victim was treated on scene by the Inglewood Fire Department for her injuries.  The victim refused to be transported to the hospital.  Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is still outstanding.

Grand Theft – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Vermont Metro Passenger Station regarding a Grand Theft call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female adult (victim) who stated she was entering the station when a male adult (suspect) approached her while on a bike and grabbed her two necklaces from her neck. The suspect then fled southbound and out of view. The victim was not injured. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to El Segundo Avenue and Hawthorne Boulevard in the city of Hawthorne, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a male adult (victim) who the Los Angeles County Fire was treating.  The victim stated that while on the bus, he became involved in an argument with a male adult (Suspect). During the argument, the suspect punched the victim several times on the head and face.  The victim fell back and struck his head.  The suspect fled on a bicycle from the location and out of view.  Responding deputies searched for the suspect but were unable to locate the suspect.  The victim was transported to the local hospital for treatment and observation. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.  The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault on Metro Personnel – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Atlantic Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted Metro Employee (victim)  who stated he received complaints from Metro patrons regarding a male adult (suspect) loitering in the elevator.  The victim went to the elevator to ask the suspect to leave.  The suspect lunged at the victim with a sharp object in a threatening manner.  The responding deputies found the suspect in the vicinity and arrested him on the indicated charge.  The suspect was found in possession of scissors.  The victim was not injured.

Interrupting Rail Operations – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Downtown Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station regarding a delay in the Metro operation call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted Metro Security, who stated that a male adult (suspect) had climbed onto the roof of the Metro Train.  This delayed normal train operations.  The suspect was detained by Metro security and placed under arrest for the charges indicated.

Possible Sexual Assault – No suspect

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Redondo Beach Bus Transit Center regarding a possible sexual assault call for service. During an investigation conducted by the TSB Detective unit, it was determined that no sexual assault occurred.

Traffic Collision - Bus Vs. Pedestrian

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Somerset Boulevard and Illinois Avenue in the city of Paramount, regarding a traffic collision call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted Metro Bus Operator (party 2), who stated that while driving westbound on Somerset Boulevard, Party #1 struck a small tree (planted along the sidewalk) with the passenger side mirror, causing the mirror to shatter.  A piece of the broken mirror struck a pedestrian (party 1) who was walking on the sidewalk.  The party 1 sustained a small ¼” scratch to the top of her head and had some redness to the area.  The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and treated party #1 on scene.  Lakewood Sheriff’s Station is conducting the traffic collision investigation. 

Battery on Transit Operator – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Redondo Beach Bus Transit Center regarding an assault call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted Metro Bus Operator (victim), who stated that while he was at the Transit Center, he became involved in a verbal argument with a male adult (suspect), who was trying to board his bus. The bus operator pulled out his cellphone to call the police, at which time the suspect slapped the bus operator’s hand, causing his cellphone to fall to the ground.  When the bus operator picked up his cellphone, the suspect punched him once in the face, and a physical altercation ensued.  The suspect then boarded the bus, and the bus operator continued his bus route.  The suspect exited the bus at 147th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard in Hawthorne and fled in an unknown direction.

The bus operator drove to Rosecrans Avenue and Hawthorne Boulevard, where he waited for deputies to arrive.  The bus operator sustained a bloody lip during the fight but refused medical treatment. The suspect is still outstanding.

July 31, 2025

Robbery (Force Used) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female adult (the victim) who stated that while she was on the platform waiting for the train to arrive, she was approached by another female adult (the suspect). The suspect sat next to the victim on the platform. When the train arrived, both the suspect and the victim stood up and began to board the train. Before the victim got onto the train car, the suspect approached the victim and, with both hands, snatched a yellow-colored chain from around the victim’s neck. There was a brief struggle during which the victim sustained a minor laceration to her neck. The suspect ran down the stairs towards the A-Line and out of view. The victim was treated by Los Angeles County Fire personnel for her injury but refused transportation to the hospital. Deputies searched the area for the suspect with negative results. There is no suspect info at this time. The suspect is still outstanding.
